The idea was conceived at Honda Performance Development in southern California. The vehicle was constructed in Ohio at Honda's North American Automotive Development Center by the Honda of America Racing Team. They volunteered, spending weekends and holidays and vacation time to complete a true passion project.

It's the Honda CR-V Hybrid Racer, and it's pwoered by a 2.2-liter twin-turbo electrified V6 engine from Honda's IndyCar program. It's fuelled by 100% renewable Shell race fuel.

And no, you can't buy it. But the CR-V Hybrid lineup is expanding for 2024. 800 horsepower? Not quite, but the 2024 CR-V Hybrid is the most powerful and most fuel efficient CR-V ever.
