This Is the First Ever Mazda CX-30

Expect The CX-30 To Arrive In Canada In Late 2019/Early 2020

Unveiled today in conjunction with the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland, this is the second model in Mazda's next-generation lineup.

This is the first ever Mazda CX-30.

The CX-30, slotting in between the CX-3 and CX-5 in Mazda's utility vehicle lineup, is intended to fulfill "the requirements of customers who wish to combine the compact, urban-friendly dimensions of the former with the space and practicality of the latter," Mazda says.

There's an evolution of Mazda's striking KODO design language, the availability of Mazda's hugely important SKYACTIV-X engine (which should dramatically reduce fuel consumption and increase torque), and the premium materials and features to which the latest generation of Mazda drivers have grown accustomed.

Mazda hits all the high notes as usual, creating a dynamic driving experience that flows throughout the brand's lineup, bolstered by industry-leading i-ACTIV all-wheel drive. But Mazda also nails the little things: a steering wheel that telescopes 70mm to create the perfect driving position, an 8.8-inch wide-screen display intuitively operated by the central commander control, precisely shaped A-pillars for a panoramic view of the road ahead, a Bose sound system specifically tuned for the CX-30, and a 'two-wall' structure between the body and carpeting to improve sound insulation.

Advanced safety features via i-ACTIVSENSE, G-Vectoring Control Plus, and a 430-litre cargo area are core aspects of the CX-30's appeal, as well.

The CX-30's dimensions, meanwhile, make it roughly 5 inches longer than a CX-3 but about half a foot shorter, bumper-to-bumper, than the CX-5.

Although all of the different models, pricing, and engine details aren't fully known yet, we expect to see the CX-30 in the showroom at Centennial Mazda later in 2019. The crossover family it joins at the end of 2019 includes the CX-3, CX-5, and CX-9, which together now account for nerly 60% of Mazda's Canadian demand.

The CX-30 will also book-end an important year for Mazda Canada. The all-new Mazda 3 landed at Centennial Mazda to kick off the year.
