The 2020 Mazda CX-30 Has Arrived At Centennial Mazda

The first three editions of the first-ever Mazda CX-30 have arrived at Centennial Mazda. In the frigid January air to which Islanders are so accustomed, three all-wheel-drive CX-30s rolled off the delivery truck in the darkness: a GS and two GTs.

But before the showroom staff at Centennial Mazda can ever get their hands on any new vehicle, the technicians get the keys first. The video below shows a bit of what goes on behind the scenes in order for a vehicle to be ready for display and sale. It's called the pre-delivery inspection, or PDI.

A PDI checklist at Mazda involves all sorts of items, from making sure the horn and lights are working properly to a full wheel alignment. It's not a five-minute process, that's for sure. But it's part of a series of quality control measures that have combined to make Mazda the most reliable mainstream automotive brand on the market, according to Consumer Reports.

We captured some of that process in this PDI timelapse. And if you stay tuned until the end, you'll also see that we tacked on some footage of the CX-30 in a very different season so you can get a good idea of how the newest Mazda looks in the wild.
