Rare, Powerful, Efficient, Luxurious: The 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature Diesel Is A Go For August

It's finally official. Like, really official.

The 2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature will be available with a diesel-powered engine in Canada beginning this August.

Priced from $45,950, the Skyactiv-D's blend of torque and efficiency provides a third engine in the CX-5 lineup, including the entry-level 2.5-liter and the turbocharged 2.5-liter that's optional in the CX-5 GT and standard in the CX-5 Signature.

With 168 horsepower and a 290-lb-ft torque plateau that kicks off at a low 2,000 rpm, the CX-5's 8.9 L/100km city fuel economy rating and 7.9 L/100km highway fuel economy rating give the efficiency of the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G with the on-road overtaking power of the Skyactiv-G 2.5T.

In addition to the luxury features and premium materials Mazda customers have come to expect in Signature trim levels – Cocoa Nappa leather, Abachi wood, frameless rearview mirror, heads-up display, cooled front seats, etc. – the CX-5 Signature Skyactiv-D also includes complimentary maintenance for two years or 32,000 KMs.

And, of course, the CX-5 Signature also includes i-ACTIV all-wheel drive.
