Mazda Has Something Big Planned for the 2018 New York Auto Show: Watch It Live

Mazda's 2018 NYIAS Unveiling: Livestreaming on CentennialAutoGroup.ca's Ignition

We don't know exactly what Mazda has planned for the 2018 New York International Auto Show, but we're all going to find out together tomorrow, Wednesday, March 28, when Mazda livestreams on CentennialAutoGroup.ca's Ignition the debut of something new.

It seems that with the Mazda Kai Concept from the Tokyo Motor Show last fall and the promised forthcoming arrival of a new SKYACTIV-X engine, Manhattan's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center could be primed to host the reveal of the all-new, fourth-generation Mazda 3.

This isn't just important because of how good we believe the new Mazda 3 will look - it's inspired by the stunning Kai Concept - but also because the next Mazda 3 is believed to be the vehicle that will host the first SKYACTIV-X engine. Revolutionary technology that automakers have been researching for years, which Mazda calls Spark Controlled Compression Ignition, will reduce fuel consumption by between 20-30% while also increasing torque.

Then again, maybe the next-gen Mazda 3 isn't quite ready for a dramatic New York City debut. Maybe we're in for a Miata surprise or a CX showcase.

Regardless, you can watch Mazda's NYIAS event livestreaming in this very space tomorrow at approximately 4:30 PM AT.
