It's A Hit, So The Brand New Mazda CX-30 Gets More Standard Equipment For 2021

It's only been a few months since the 2020 Mazda CX-30 landed in Centennial Mazda's showroom as the fourth member of Mazda's CX utility vehicle lineup. We knew right away that the CX-30 was going to be a hit, not just based on the sheer number of customers who were expressing interest, but because of the way in which the CX-30 hit the sweet spot.

Driving dynamics. Interior versatility. Equipment levels. Premium atmosphere.

In the 2020 CX-30, it all comes together perfectly. The result is a car that tore up the sales charts during a pandemic that's caused the Canadian market to quiver. At Mazda Canada, total sales actually jumped 9 percent in June 2020, thanks in no small part to a CX-30 that is now the brand's No.3 seller.

So, time to sit back and let the CX-30 ride a wave of popularity?

No.

Mazda believes in continual improvement, so the entry-level 2021 Mazda CX-30 is going to include more standard equipment, such as rain-sensing wipers and auto on/off headlights. The CX-30 GX is already remarkably well equipped: 8.8-inch centre screen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 8-speaker Mazda Harmonic Acoustics audio, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, LED lighting, and heated front seats.

Want more? The CX-30 GS trades the standard 155-horsepower engine for a 186-horsepower 2.5-liter powerplant. Extra features include radar cruise control, lane keep assist, and a wide array of other advanced safety tech plus a heated steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control. The GS's Luxury Package adds leatherette seating, a 10-way power driver's seat with memory settings, a sunroof, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The top-of-the-line 2021 Mazda CX-30 adds Bose 12-speaker audio, leather seating, navigation, a power tailgate, adaptive front lighting, proximity access, a heads-up display, rear parking sensors, frameless rearview mirror, and a bundle of extra advanced safety features.
