Celebrating the 2025 Excellence in Automotive Scholarship Recipients
July 07 2025,

At Centennial Auto Group, we believe in supporting the next generation of automotive technicians and helping young Islanders pursue careers in the trades. That’s why, each year, we award two $1,000 Excellence in Automotive Scholarships to high school students enrolled in their school’s automotive program and planning to continue their education in the Automotive Technician program at Holland College.
This year’s recipients, Simon Seip and Carlee Burke, exemplify the drive, passion, and determination that the automotive industry needs — and we’re proud to play a small part in their journeys.
Simon Seip – Three Oaks High School
For Simon, working on vehicles has been more than just a class — it’s a career path that has already taught him confidence and perseverance. During his time in the automotive program at Three Oaks High School in Summerside, Simon developed his skills and confirmed that this was the trade he wanted to pursue.
When he received the scholarship, Simon shared how much it meant to him:
“I am so grateful for your belief and support. Receiving this scholarship will allow me to continue chasing my dreams. I was very surprised and honoured to receive this award at graduation, which made it an even more memorable night.”
We have no doubt Simon will bring fierce determination to his studies at Holland College and into his future career.
Carlee Burke – Montague Regional High School
Carlee’s interest in the automotive trade began at a young age, watching her father restore antique vehicles. When she finally got into the shop in high school, she discovered how much she truly enjoyed working on cars.
Carlee has already made a name for herself as a role model — not only competing in the Skills PEI competition, where she placed 4th as the only female in the automotive category, but also inspiring other young women to consider careers in the trades.
Entering a traditionally male-dominated industry hasn’t always been easy, but Carlee has embraced the challenge and is proud to show others what’s possible.
“It proves to the female audience that you can do anything, even when you’re told you can’t. I’m looking forward to being a role model and showing others they are just as capable as me.”
We’re excited to see Carlee continue breaking barriers and leading by example as she enters Holland College and beyond.
Supporting the Next Generation
We created the Excellence in Automotive Scholarship to encourage and support youth looking at a future in the automotive trade — and students like Simon and Carlee are exactly why this program exists.
Congratulations again to both recipients. We can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
