363 Kilometres Of Range + Even Better Acceleration

2019 Nissan LEAF Plus

Updated for the 2019 model year with a newly available PLUS model, the Nissan LEAF now offers 363 kilometres of total electric range, according to Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency.

That's 40% more range than the regular LEAF thanks to a 62 kWh battery pack, which also aids acceleration - the LEAF PLUS is quick.

But how far can you actually go? Google Maps answers that question.

First, imagine a journey from Centennial Nissan of Charlottetown that takes you to Centennial Nissan of Summerside. In 2011, in the first Nissan LEAF, there was enough range to travel from Charlottetown to Summerside and back again, with a bit of leftover energy to start a second journey westward. That LEAF utilized a 24 kWh battery and could be charged up to 80% (128 KMs) in 26 minutes.

Fast forward to 2019, and the LEAF PLUS could complete three round trips between Centennial Nissan of Charlottetown and Centennial Nissan of Summerside. Now, with an available Quick Charging system, the LEAF PLUS can quickly be charged up to far more range in the same amount of time. The LEAF PLUS's battery pack is about the same  size as the conventional configuration, as well.

All of that range now makes it far easier to travel long distances in the electric Nissan. 363 kilometres of range will take the LEAF PLUS from the Quick Charging port at Centennial Nissan of Charlottetown to Nissan's Quick Charging port on Kempt Road in Halifax with plenty of range to spare.

Moreover, with DC Fast stations in Shediac, Moncton,  Salisbury, Coles Island, Oromocto, Kings Landing, Woodstock, Perth-Andover, Grand Falls, Edmundston, Ville de Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, Rivière-du-Loup, La Pocatière, St-Jean-Port-Joli, and Ville de Montmagny - not to mention many more on the north side of the St. Lawrence River - an electric journey from Prince Edward Island into the heart of old Quebec City is littered with optional stopping places.

The tide is rising. And with the world's all-time best-selling electric vehicle, Nissan is riding the top of the wave.
